The Effect Of Provision Of Medication Reminder Chart In Improving Compliance And Clinical Parameters Of Hypertension Patients In Puskesmas, Muara Komam District
Abstract
Patient compliance is needed to achieve therapeutic success, so interventions are needed to help improve patient adherence to therapy. Medication reminder chart is one tool that can be used to improve compliance for hypertensive patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the medication reminder chart in improving adherence and clinical parameters of hypertensive patients. This study uses the Pre-Experimental Design method with the One Group Pretest-Prosttest Design. Using the MMAS-8 questionnaire to measure patient compliance before and after administering the medication reminder chart and examining clinical parameters to measure the level of patient compliance. The sample in this study amounted to 56 patients. The results based on the MMAS-8 method showed that the frequency of patients based on the pre-test was in the category of high adherence 10.7% (n=6), moderate adherence 46.7% (n=26) and low adherence 43.4% (n=24 ) and the post-test results showed high adherence 90.0% (n=27). Wilcoxon test results obtained p = value 0.004 < a = 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an effect of giving medication reminder chart in increasing adherence to taking hypertension medication in hypertensive patients.
