Identification of the Level Settlement Slums in the District of Cerbon Barito Kuala Regency
Abstract
The increase in population in Barito Kuala Regency and Cerbon District has resulted in an increase in the need for space to accommodate all activities of the population, including for residential purposes. The poor generally occupy dwellings on dense land and form slums. This study aims to identify the level of slum settlements in Cerbon District based on criteria including building conditions, environmental road conditions, drinking water supply conditions, environmental drainage conditions, wastewater management conditions, solid waste management conditions, and fire protection conditions. Primary data collection was carried out through field observations and interviews by name by address, preceded by preliminary analysis through heatmap analysis tools. Determining the level of slums uses scoring and classification techniques based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing No. 14 of 2018. Based on the results of the study, the level of slums in Cerbon District is dominated by moderate slum levels spread across all village areas.
